On November 28, 2005 the American Heart Association and the European Resuscitation Council independently released new guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
These guidelines are the culmination of years of work to develop science-based recommendations for treating cardiovascular emergencies, particularly sudden cardiac arrest. The guidelines are based on a thorough review of the science in the field conducted by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation. This group includes the American Heart Association, the European Resuscitation Council and other leading resuscitation councils.
Physio-Control recognizes the 2005 Guidelines for CPR and ECC represent significant opportunities to improve patient care. There is every reason to expect their implementation will save additional lives.
The 2005 Guidelines will have a significant impact on the emergency cardiovascular care that you practice. With the broadest product line and most extensive support in the industry, Physio-Control is uniquely positioned to assist you as you implement the new Guidelines.
