Out-of-Hospital Thrombolysis

Out-of-hospital fibrinolysis to patients with STEMI is deemed "safe, feasible, and reasonable." Class IIa.

Although the emphasis is directed toward 12-lead ECG acquisition and transmission with early notification, there is recognition of the need and classification for thrombolysis in EMS even in urban settings with short transport times. This category was previously not classified.
