Early Defibrillation

The AHA 2005 Guidelines challenge EMS services to deploy AEDs as early as possible — delays of defibrillation in a sudden cardiac patient can reduce survival.

Challenges

  • Are your BLS responders trained to deliver early defibrillation?
  • Can your defibrillators function in both BLS "AED" and ALS "Manual" modes?
  • Do your various defibrillators share a common set of controls?

Meeting the Challenges

Physio-Control family of products consist of the most basic AED to an advanced defibrillator/monitor.

The LIFEPAK® 1000 defibrillator is uniquely designed to facilitate early defibrillation. When the BLS team arrives on scene, they will see an AED. When the ALS team arrives, they may switch to manual mode to defibrillate as well as interpret rhythms on the large LCD screen.

The LIFEPAK® 12 defibrillator/monitor is compact and portable with compatible pacing/defibrillation/ECG electrodes. The LIFEPAK 12 defibrillator/monitor offers features such as pulse oximetry offering accurate and reliable oxygen saturation monitoring, Oscillometric noninvasive blood pressure monitoring, end-tidal CO2 monitoring for both intubated and non-intubated patients, 12-lead ECG interpretive algorithm, and vital signs monitoring.
