Endotracheal Tube Placement

The 2005 Guidelines recommend clinical assessment as well as a device to confirm correct placement of the ET tube in the trachea immediately after placement and each time the patient is moved. [1]

Challenges

  • Can your device currently be used to confirm endotracheal tube placement?

Meeting the Challenges

The LIFEPAK® 12 defibrillator/monitor assists in assessing ET tube placement through end-tidal CO2 monitoring when used in conjunction with other measures, as recommended by the AHA Guidelines.
