Device to PC Communications Cables Requirements

There are 3 varieties of update kits available:

Kit 1 is recommended only for those that already have a RS-232 DB9 to QUIK-COMBO serial communications cable. This cable is typically used in conjunction with CODE-STAT data review software or LIFENET DT Express data transfer software.

If you have received a copy of the update software and are in need of a cable, there are two options available:

• RS-232 DB9 to QUIK-COMBO serial communications cable
  • Use this cable if your computer has an available serial or COM port. This cable can be ordered by calling Medtronic and asking for Catalog # 11230-000001. It has a list price of $50 (or $80 for the kit, which includes the cable and update CD).
• USB to QUIK-COMBO communications cable
  • Use this cable if your computer does not have an available serial or COM port, but has a USB port. This cable can be ordered by calling Medtronic and asking for Catalog# 11996-000252. It has a list price of $150 (or $180 for the kit, which includes the cable and update CD).
  • The drivers for this cable are automatically installed by the software update program.
  • Connect the cable to your computer when directed to by the software update program.

Do not use more than one LIFEPAK 500 USB to QUIK-COMBO communications cable at one time or in combination with a similar LIFEPAK 12 USB to Hypertronics system connector cable.

The software update application is designed to only work with one defibrillator at a time.

Other combinations of cables and USB to serial adapters are not supported.
