Web-Based 12-Lead ECG Training Course

Tim Phalen, a leading expert in 12-lead ECGs, brings us this web-based 12-lead training program. Through interactive online sessions, users experience a highly visual, stimulating 4-part course in STEMI recognition, ECG changes, extensive interpretation practice, and rapid acquisition tips.

Whether new to 12-lead acquisition and interpretation or as a review, this course is an excellent and engaging training tool. After completing the course and final exam, eligible participants are entitled to 5 hours of EMS or nursing continuing education credit.

The full course includes 4 parts and a final exam:

STEMI Recognition

The first part provides a foundation for STEMI recognition, covers the basics of interpretation and identifies significant parts of the waveform .

STEMI: Additional ECG Changes

This section provides a systematic approach to 12-lead ECG interpretation to help identify the likelihood of a true STEMI.

Interpretation Practice

Confidence in STEMI interpretation requires practice.  This section provides 125 random ECGs to practice interpretation.

Rapid 12-Lead ECG Acquisition

This section covers the critical skill of rapidly acquiring a clear ECG. It covers proper electrode placement, techniques for proper male and female acquisition, and real-world tips and techniques.
